Description

This interface allows the user to create a set of billboards over an area. Also supplying several distribution techniques.

  1. Name - The name by which this billboard will be accessible.
  2. Position - The position of the billboard relatively to it's parents.
  3. Scale - The scaling that will affect the placement area of the billboards relatively to it's parents.
  4. Visible - If unchecked the billboards will not be visible.
  5. Cast Shadows - If checked the billboards will cast shadows upon other objects.
  6. Persistent - If unchecked, all the changes made to this billboard are lost when all the connected users leave the arena.
  7. Material - Opens the Material List Interface. Upon selection, the material will be applied to all the billboards.
  8. Size - Sets the absolute width and the height of each billboard. For more details see Dimensions.
  9. Cull Each - If checked, only the billboards that are visible will be rendered. For more details see Cull Individually.
  10. Sorted - If checked, the billboards will be sorted by distance. For more details see Sorted.
  11. Accurate Facing - If checked, the billboards will have a more precise (but slower) calculation to always be facing the camera. For more details see Accurate Facing.
  12. Facing - Sets the way the billboards will face the camera. For more details see Billboard Type.
  13. Direction - The direction of all billboards. This is only used if the Facing selected is perpendicular_self or perpendicular_common. For more details see Common Direction.
  14. UP - The up direction of all billboards. This is only used if the Facing selected is perpendicular_self or perpendicular_common. For more details see Common Up Vector.
  15. Origin - The point which acts as the origin point relative to it's position. For more details see Origin.
  16. Rotation - The rotation type for the billboards. It either rotates the vertices of the generated billboard, or its texture. For more details see Rotation Type

Random

Randomly places a number of billboards in the bounding limits of a box.

  1. Type - The selected distribution type.
  2. Seed - The seed supplied to the random number generator.
  3. Quota - The number of billboards to be created.
  4. Area - The area of the box where the billboards will be created.

Random on Surface

Randomly places a number of billboards in the bounding limits of a plane. The billboards will be placed automatically on the surface of the terrain.

  1. Type - The selected distribution type.
  2. Seed - The seed supplied to the random number generator.
  3. Quota - The number of billboards to be created.
  4. Area - The area of the plane where the billboards will be created.

Random on Surface Image

Randomly places a number of billboards in the bounding limits of a plane. The billboards will be placed automatically on the surface of the terrain. The placing of the billboards will have into account the texture selected in the Image parameter.

  1. Type - The selected distribution type.
  2. Seed - The seed supplied to the random number generator.
  3. Quota - The number of billboards to be created.
  4. Area - The area of the plane where the billboards will be created.
  5. Image - Opens the Library Explorer Interface showing all the available textures on the user media libraries. The selected image will be used to map the defined area into placement zones. The amount of billboards placed in each of the zones will be determined by the color of each pixel. The selected image must be grayscale.
