What's Ludiloom?

ludiloom is an online service for integrated game production and distribution, particularly suited for MMO game development.

Equipped with the OGRE 3D engine, NVIDIA PhysX and other powerful tools, ludiloom is a project of a small, dedicated and ambitious team, originally developed to fulfill their own need for an agile game development & playtest process, being an, on demand, game production company.

In order to tackle the problem of having to redesign from the ground up, every time the Client wanted something different or changed his mind, ludiloom's team has designed and developed a set of technologies for MMO game creation and immediate P2P distribution, streamlining the entire production-cycle pipeline.

These innovative technologies are now integrated and full available online, making ludiloom the first totally online MMO Game Engine!

Considering the Game Engine itself as an online service, it's possible to change, make corrections and even add new levels to a game title, LIVE, while people are playing it! This effortless change between EDIT and PLAY modes, allows for live collaborative game creation, rapid prototyping and playtesting. ludiloom approaches game development in a fresh and innovative way, transforming the entire production cycle in a single, continuous and agile process.

We believe ludiloom, is a new paradigm for game development, is not just a way to build games faster, it actually opens new avenues for innovation. In particular, the ludiloom's team is aiming for "polymorphic" games, a term coined to designate a special kind of game that has in itself the tools for players to change it - "modding" is a built-in characteristic.

Plus, with ludiloom, making a MMO Game can be rather simple.

Still, ludiloom is obviously not exclusive to games or MMO games in particular. Pretty much any interactive experience that requires a 3D environment, single-player or any game genre can be created using ludiloom.

That said, ludiloom's team is incredibly curious to see what you will make of it. Whatever you decide, we are positive ludiloom is the best choice for its development.

Who Uses ludiloom?

ludiloom online service is intended to be a marketplace for anyone interested in developing multiplayer online games (MMOG) or other highly interactive content, publish it and choose a business model in order to get paid for the effort.

Small independent studios are the key target, since no great up-front investment is needed to make a game and render it for immediate publishing and online distribution tothe Players Community. An hybrid P2P architecture allows for minimal financial delivery costs.

The ludiloom Community also gathers Game Designers, Programmers, 2D&3D Artists, Musicians and pretty much everyone else needed to produce a video game. Of course, these make up the part of the community that makes games, the other part is made up of Players and Modders in general.
